HIV breakthrough?!

As many will have seen, today a London patient has been declared to be the second person ever to receive a stem cell transplant resulting in undetectable HIV loads without being on ART.

This could be a significant breakthrough in the area of HIV, if this is found to be successful and a cure, but for now at least there are approximately just over 100,000 people living in the UK with HIV today, and has become a far less talked about topic then in the 80’s and 90’s.

While treatments can be very effective in dealing with HIV, ignorance and stigmatisation can still occur about this topic.

If you would like Amplifyouth to come and take a one off HIV/AIDS lesson to help overcome many young people’s lack of knowledge and/or misunderstanding of this manageable chronic disease, then please contact us.
